greetings and salutations,
we’re in the final push for our big show in montreal tomorrow and have a million and one things to attend to, but we wanted to get up in your grill one last time and offer you the final mix of our special hallowe’en track. we tweaked a few things and combined the vocal treatments. enjoy the sweet, sweetness created for YOU especially at this spooky time of year by erik “kerr(s) of frankenstein” (vocals & drums), randy “re-animator” roos (guitar, studio wizadry), gavin “dracula’s castle”ton (fender rhodes, synth), mister “rawhead rex” rourke (turntables….see below for more rourke goodness), and yours truly, “monster” mike rivard (bass).
also, this just in at press time: club d’elf has been nominated for a boston music award in the “best jazz act” category. yes, it’s all just an act. hope to see some of ya’ll in montreal…

it was late when i sent out the last ish and forgot to include another fave: dario argento’s Suspiria (1977) (http://imdb.com/title/tt0076786). i watched this one quite a bit a few years ago when hanging out with john medeski & scotty hard at shacklyn, playing on their suspiria project. rats running around the place only helped to make the atmosphere more appropriate. the soundtrack is by argento’s band Goblin, who we happen to pay tribute to with a track from Perhapsody called Goblin Garden, which you can hear on our myspace.
also, i forgot to mention one of the best scenes from Freaks: there’s a guy called prince randi, who is only a torso – no arms, no legs. grizzled popeye-type face, and at one point he rolls, lights, and smokes a cigarette, all without the use of any limbs, just his mouth! it’s NUTS! watch it!
